This feature will be available starting Monday, October 20.
If your company operates shift work schedules exceeding 8 hours/day or 40 hours/week and wants to apply different overtime determinations based on schedule assignments, try using the 'Allow prescribed working hours exceeding statutory working hours' option.
Wait! ✋🏻
This option is only available for the 'Shift Work' type. Also, holiday and overtime determinations follow the Labor Standards Act as-is, and the 8-hour daily prescribed working hours standard is maintained regardless of this option.
'Allow Prescribed Working Hours Exceeding Statutory Working Hours' Option
Background
Previously, flex did not allow setting prescribed working hours exceeding 8 hours/day or 40 hours/week.
For example, if you configured a schedule of 8 hours/day × 6 days/week (48 hours total), the system would automatically adjust each day's working hours to fit 40 hours total. As a result, even if an employee actually worked 48 hours, the excess 8 hours were treated as overtime. Similarly, working 10 hours in a day exceeding the 8-hour limit meant 2 hours were counted as overtime.
Now, with the 'Allow prescribed working hours exceeding statutory working hours' option, you can flexibly configure work schedules where exceeding 8 hours/day or 40 hours/week is not treated as overtime. Using this option, you can accurately reflect patterns where weekly working hours vary by shift cycle or schedule assignment.
Use Cases
The following work patterns can now be supported in flex:
Work patterns requiring prescribed working hours exceeding 8 hours/day or 40 hours/week
For example, with this option enabled, working 10 hours Mon-Wed does not generate 2 hours of overtime, but with this option disabled, working 10 hours Mon-Wed generates 2 hours of overtime
