If you are using the new evaluation features, you can access the following features from the Settings menu.
Goal Settings
You can set the cycle period and visibility scope for goals. Configure your goal management settings to match your company's policies!
This setting requires the [NEW Goal Management] permission and the [Cycle Management] permission.
Goal Cycle Period Settings
What is a goal cycle?
It refers to the start and end of the cycle period used for goals. You can customize the start and end dates for annual, semi-annual, and quarterly periods to manage goals in line with your company's policies.
Even if your fiscal year differs or you manage goals on a project basis, you can freely configure cycles to suit your needs.
Only members with the [Cycle Management] permission can configure goal cycle periods.
Go to [Settings] → [Cycle Period Settings] in the left menu.
Enter the start and end dates for each period — annual, first/second half, and Q1/Q2/Q3/Q4 — in accordance with your company's policies.
Goal Visibility Scope Settings
Why set a goal visibility scope?
You can set the default visibility scope that will be applied when members create goals. If your company policy requires goals to be kept private, you can set the default to private for smooth management.
Go to [Settings] → [Goal Settings] in the left menu.
You can select the default visibility scope as either everyone or limited.
Visible to everyone: All members of the organization can view the goal.
Visible to limited audience: Only certain people can view the goal. The limited audience refers to goal participating members (other than admins), the team leaders of the responsible party and participating members, and anyone directly added.
Tip! Check the visibility settings by goal type.
Goal Type | Visibility Scope Setting | Required Visibility | Optional Visibility |
Company Goal | Visible to everyone only | - | - |
Team Goal | Visible to everyone Visible to limited audience | Team leader of the responsible party Team leader of participating members Participating members Team members | Parent organization Sub-organization Directly selected members |
Personal Goal | Visible to everyone Visible to limited audience | Team leader of the responsible party Team leader of participating members Participating members | Team members Directly selected members |
Goal Approval Settings
You can configure goals to require approval from a designated approver before they are created or modified.
Previously, there was no way to control members from arbitrarily creating or modifying goals, which made it difficult to prevent unapproved goals from being created or to catch last-minute edits right before an evaluation. Now, by introducing an approval process for goal creation and modification, goals must be approved by a designated approver before taking effect, enabling more systematic goal management.
You can configure approval to trigger upon goal creation from [Settings] - [Goal Settings] - [Goal Approval Settings] at the bottom of the left menu.
Click the [Goal Approval Settings] - [Goal Creation] tab, then enable the [Use Approval] toggle to configure whether approval is used and to assign approvers.
When [Goal Creation] approval is configured, members can see whether an approval request will be triggered when they create a goal.
Members can check the approval progress of created goals from [Goal Approval] in the top-right of the left [Goals] menu.
By clicking the goal creation approval request notification, the approver can review the details of the goal created by the member and proceed with approval or rejection.
The approver can communicate with the member who created or requested approval for the goal via comments through [Activity Log] in the approval request document.
Goal Change Approval
You can configure approval to trigger upon goal modification from [Settings] - [Goal Settings] - [Goal Changes] at the bottom of the left menu.
Editing goal information
If change approval is configured, approval is always required when editing any basic goal information, such as the title, responsible party, participating members, description, and visibility scope.
Updating goal status
If change approval is configured, approval is required when updating the goal status or metrics once the goal has reached a completed state (achieved/not achieved/canceled), to prevent arbitrary modifications to goal achievement records.
For goals that are not yet in a completed state, the goal status and metrics can be updated without separate approval.
Deleting a goal
If change approval is configured, approval is always required when deleting a goal.
Click the [Goal Approval Settings] - [Goal Changes] tab, then enable the [Use Approval] toggle to configure whether approval is used and to assign approvers.
When a member edits goal information with change approval configured, the approvers are displayed on the right side, indicating that an approval request will be sent to the relevant approvers upon editing.
Additionally, when updating the status of a goal whose [Goal Progress Status] is completed (achieved/not achieved/canceled) with change approval configured, the approvers are displayed, indicating that an approval request will be sent to the relevant approvers upon updating the goal.
When a member deletes a goal with change approval configured, the approvers are displayed, indicating that a deletion approval request will be sent to the relevant approvers upon deletion.
Members can check the approval progress of modified/updated goals from [Goal Approval] in the top-right of the left [Goals] menu.
By clicking the goal update or deletion approval request notification, the approver can review the modified goal details and proceed with approval or rejection.
The approver can also communicate with the member who created the goal via comments through [Activity Log] in the approval request document.
Restrictions on Editing/Deleting/Updating Goals with Pending Approvals
If an edit/deletion/update approval is in progress for a goal, members cannot make additional edits, deletions, or updates to that goal until the approval is completed.
However, admins with goal management permission can cancel the pending approval request and then proceed with the necessary additional edits, deletions, or updates.
If an edit/deletion request has been submitted for a goal whose progress status is in progress (on track/difficult/at risk) and the related approval is pending, members cannot make additional edits or deletions until the existing approval is completed.
Admins with goal management permission can cancel the pending approval and then edit/delete the goal, even while a goal approval is in progress.
If an edit/update/deletion request has been submitted for a goal whose progress status is completed (achieved/not achieved/canceled) and the related approval is pending, members cannot make additional edits, updates, or deletions until the existing approval is completed.
Admins with goal management permission can cancel the pending status update approval and then edit/delete/update the goal, even while a status update approval is in progress.
Evaluation Settings
You can configure evaluator designation approval and evaluation item approval from the [Settings] - [Approval Policy Management] - [Evaluation] tab at the bottom of the left menu.
What is evaluator designation approval?: When conducting a peer evaluation, the evaluatee can directly designate their own evaluators. The evaluators designated by the evaluatee can then be confirmed after approval.
What is evaluation item approval?: When conducting a selective competency or performance evaluation, the evaluatee can directly select the competencies to be evaluated or enter the evaluation items. The items selected and entered by the evaluatee can then be confirmed after approval by an approver.
