Creating a Goal Agreement for Goal-Linked Reviews

Updated today

To conduct a goal-linked review, an [agreement] on the goals set by employees is required.
Have employees and their organization heads/team leads agree in advance on the importance (weighting) and evaluation criteria for each goal.

Administrators granted the Goal Management permission can manage goal agreements and all goals.

Creating a Goal Agreement Cycle

Employees can only request goal agreements after an administrator has created a goal agreement cycle.

  • Click the three-dot button in the upper right, then click [Goal Agreement].

  • Click [Create Goal Agreement] to create a goal agreement cycle.

  • On the Create Goal Agreement Cycle screen, employees can set the grade criteria and weighting for each goal.

    • Agreement Cycle: This is the name displayed to employees. Please describe which goals this agreement covers.

    • Goal Period: Select the period of goals for which the agreement will be conducted. Only goals within the selected period can be agreed upon.

If the goal period within the agreement cycle is set to 2024, the goal period set by the employee must also be set to 2024.

  • Grade Settings: Enter the grades and evaluation criteria based on goal achievement level.

  • Employees can review the configured grades during the goal agreement process, modify the evaluation criteria for each goal, and then submit the agreement request.

  • Once the goal agreement cycle has been created, you can view it in the list.

The goal agreement cycle setup for goal alignment is now complete.
In addition to goals they are the assignee for, employees can also request agreement on goals they are a 'participant' in. For goals where they are a participant, if the weighting is set to 0%, those goals will not be pulled in during the goal-linked review.

For goals where employees are participants, also set a weighting so that the following can be decided internally in advance for employees to reference when submitting agreement requests:

  1. Whether to consider the employee's level of participation as a participant, and if so, what percentage the weighting should be set to

  2. Whether not to set a weighting for goals where they are a participant so those goals are not referenced during the goal-linked review

      • Agreement Complete: The approver has completed the agreement.

      • Rejected: The approver has rejected the employee's goal agreement request.

  • Click the three-dot button on the right of a goal agreement cycle you created to edit or delete it.

FAQ

Can the approver enter a reason when rejecting an employee's goal agreement?

If there are revisions needed during the goal agreement process, navigate to the goal screen and enter the rejection reason in the comments before proceeding with the rejection, or guide the employee to have a 1-on-1 to align on the goals before re-submitting the goal agreement request.

When trying to request a goal agreement, the employee says a newly created goal is not showing up.

If a new agreement is needed due to changes in goal content or addition/deletion of goals after a goal agreement request has been submitted, click [Reload] on the agreement request screen to view the updated goals.

Is it possible to request a goal agreement for a private goal?

Yes, it is possible. If an employee has set a goal to private, they can still view it in the goal agreement request list, set a weighting, and submit a goal agreement request.

However, on the organization head/team lead (approver)'s screen, private goals are shown as [This goal is private].

If you want to include a private goal in a goal-linked review, the goal agreement organizer (approver) must be added as a [Participant].

How are private goals displayed in goal-linked reviews?

  • They are displayed as a private goal.

What is the difference between the My Agreed Goals tab and the Manage Agreed Goals tab?

  • My Agreed Goals tab: Displays all agreement cycles created by the administrator.

    • Shows all cycles, whether the employee has not yet submitted an agreement request or has already completed the agreement.

  • Manage Agreed Goals tab: Among agreement cycles created by the administrator, only shows cycles in which someone has sent an agreement request to me.
