Secom (S1) Integration Guide

Updated today

Please check the following before starting the integration.

Secom (S1) integration is done using Secom's "Secom Link" feature.

  • You can proceed with the integration more smoothly by requesting your company's Secom engineer: "I need support to integrate attendance records with an external ODBC provider using Secom Link."

    • This also applies if you encounter situations that are difficult to resolve on your own during Steps 1–2 below.

  • Screenshots may differ from the actual screens depending on the Secom product and version you are using.

    • If the installed Secom Manager (Attendance·Cafeteria) program does not support the "Secom Link" feature, integration will not be possible.

If you encounter any difficulties during the initial integration setup, please refer to the FAQ below first!

✅ Please verify that the following two conditions are met before proceeding.

  • You must be subscribed to the 'Secom/ADT Caps Integration' add-on service.

  • To integrate Secom / Caps, the [Secom/Caps Integration Management] permission is required under Permission Settings.

Overview

By integrating Secom with flex, you can sync attendance records from access control devices into flex as clock-in/clock-out records.

The Secom integration setup consists of 4 steps.

  1. Configure flex DB access

  2. Configure Secom attendance record export

  3. Set employee numbers to map Secom users with flex users

  4. Activate registration and verify integration

0. Prerequisites

The following program should already be installed on the server where Secom attendance records are stored.

  • Secom Manager (Attendance·Cafeteria)

Please verify that the above program is properly installed. If you cannot find it, contact your Secom representative.

(Fig 0.a) Verify that both programs are properly installed via the Start menu

1. Configure flex DB Access

First, complete the settings required to access the flex DB for record synchronization.

You will need the following account information to proceed.

1.1. Install PostgreSQL ODBC Driver

Download the file below and run it to install.

psqlodbc-setup.exe (version 17.00.0007)

After connecting Secom/Caps, I tested it but see a notification saying real-time work records cannot be used.

  • To use Secom/Caps work integration, you must first enable the real-time clock-in/out recording feature under Settings - Work Type. After enabling the setting, the test should work correctly!

Can I distinguish between records clocked in/out via Secom and those clocked in/out via flex?

No.

There is no separate feature to distinguish between registration via Secom (fingerprint/face recognition/card) and via app/web.

Attendance records made via fingerprint are from the Caps attendance device integrated with flex, and they work the same as real-time work records.

Therefore, work records made via fingerprint are displayed the same as real-time work records. Work records through real-time recording can be found in the Clock-In Time / Clock-Out Time columns via the [Member Work Record Download - Daily Detail View] feature.

Can administrators configure work confirmation skip (skip work record review)?

The skip setting can be configured under Settings - Work Type - Default Clock-Out Settings.

With this setting, you can apply the [Skip] option for all members' default clock-out settings at once.

How do I integrate Secom (S1) for multiple legal entities?

When employees from the primary entity and affiliates are on the same floor, and integration with flex is done through a single Secom (S1)/Caps/Telecop PC on that floor

  • If the employee numbers of the primary entity and the affiliate are the same, they cannot be linked. Employee numbers must be distinct, so please keep this in mind.

  • You must have the account information for the primary entity's integration. (User Name, Password, Server, Port, Database)

  • [email protected] If an administrator is concurrently employed at an affiliate as shown below and is proceeding with multi-entity Secom/Caps/Telecop integration, the [email protected] administrator should create a Secom/Caps/Telecop account at the primary entity, then create an account in flex Mini. The created account can then be used for Secom/Caps/Telecop integration.

    • flex: Primary entity

    • flex Mini: Concurrently employed entity (affiliate)

When the primary entity and affiliates are on different floors (or in different buildings), each with their own separate Secom (S1)/Caps/Telecop PC, and you want employees to be able to clock in/out from any location

This is the case where there are multiple Secom/Caps/Telecop PCs. In this case, please contact the Customer Success team. (Please confirm how many PCs are installed)

When the primary entity and affiliates are on each floor, each with a separate Secom (S1)/Caps/Telecop PC for flex integration, and each primary entity/affiliate employee only clocks in/out on their respective floor

Create an account for the primary entity, proceed with integration on the Secom (S1)/Caps/Telecop PC used by the primary entity, then create an account for the affiliate and proceed with integration on the Secom (S1)/Caps/Telecop PC used by the affiliate.

Can past work records be synced after Secom integration?

  • Yes, they can be synced. However, only work records within 14 days from the time of integration will be synced.
For records older than that, you must reflect the Secom/Caps/KT Telecop records in flex using the Work Record Upload feature.
