Employees Can Only Register Full-Day Leave

When employees register custom leave, if they can only register full-day leave, or can only use half-day units, and the leave settings' usage unit is not working as intended, please check the following!

Check the Situation

  • If an employee can only select [All Day] when registering leave on the leave screen, please check the following.

Check Settings

  • Go to [Settings] -> [Custom Leave] -> Click the [Custom Leave] tab that was granted to or requested by the employee

  • Check if the [Usage Unit] is set to [Day Unit].

Grant and Register Leave

It was set to day unit usage. What should I do?

  • If half-day or hourly usage is allowed, first change and save the usage unit setting to allow split usage.

Retroactively Apply Leave Settings

  • When changing custom leave settings midway, you can see the [Apply to Previously Granted Leave] option at the bottom. This option appears when the following settings are changed midway and allows administrators to decide whether to retroactively apply the changes.

    • Leave usage unit change:

      • Example: Previously all leave was used at once -> Changed to allow half-day split usage

    • Paid/unpaid status:

      • Example: Previously paid leave changed to unpaid leave

    • Supporting document submission:

      • Example: Previously post-submission (submit after registering leave) changed to pre-registration (register leave with supporting documents)

    • Advance leave registration:

      • Example: When leave period includes holidays, previously holidays with registered leave were not deducted from leave balance changed to holidays with registered leave being deducted from leave balance

  • If the employees' custom leave usage unit and policy differ from the current custom leave settings, please enable [Apply to Previously Granted Leave] at the bottom to retroactively apply the settings.

  • With the updated settings, employees can now use leave in half-day units.

It was already set to half-day or hourly units!

  • If it was already properly set to half-day or hourly units, the leave settings were likely set to [Day Unit Only] at the time the employee applied for or received the leave.

  • Go to [Settings] -> [Custom Leave] -> [Custom Leave Settings], and enable the [Apply to Previously Granted Leave] option. This option appears when the following settings are changed midway and allows administrators to decide whether to retroactively apply the changes.
