This guide explains how to select evaluation elements (competency, performance, custom) that members will be assessed on, and how to set evaluation stages — such as whether to conduct only self-evaluation or include downward evaluation as well.
In [Select Evaluation Elements], choose which elements to evaluate in this evaluation.
Competency: Evaluate competencies added in Competency Management, such as common, leadership, and job-specific competencies.
Performance: Evaluate a member's work performance beyond competencies.
For performance evaluations, members can link their [Goals] to select which goals to be assessed on. They can also enter performance content directly and request evaluation based on that.
Custom: Evaluate elements your company considers important beyond competency and performance.
For example, if your company considers [Attitude] an important evaluation element in addition to competency and performance, you can use a custom evaluation element to assess attitude.
Once you've selected evaluation elements, choose the evaluation stages.
For peer evaluations, you can set the [Peer Designation Method].
Designator: Choose whether peer evaluators are designated by 1. the evaluatee, 2. the team lead, or 3. the evaluation administrator.
Number of evaluators: Set the minimum and maximum number of peers (up to 10) to conduct peer evaluation.
Approval: When the peer designation method is set to [Designateed by evaluatee], you can require "approval" to confirm the evaluators designated by the evaluatee.
When there are 2 or more evaluation stages, or when downward evaluation is set to 2nd level or higher, the [Evaluate Each Competency Type in a Different Stage] feature becomes available. Enabling this lets you apply different evaluation stages to different competency types.
When the [Downward Evaluation] stage is enabled, you can set the number of downward evaluation rounds.
If at least one of self, peer, upward, or downward evaluation is enabled in the evaluation stage selection, you can configure [Calibration] usage in [Evaluation Detailed Settings].
Calibration can only be conducted in the evaluation operations stage after all evaluation writing is closed.
For details on calibration, refer to the guide on the right! Running an Evaluation — Conducting Calibration

When set to [Designated by evaluatee], notifications are sent to the evaluatee via in-product alerts, email, and to-dos when the administrator-configured peer designation period arrives.
The notified evaluatee clicks [To-Do] to select the peers who will evaluate them.
Members in the same organization as the evaluatee's primary org are shown. If the evaluatee wants to be evaluated by a member not in the suggested list, they can search for that member directly and select them as an evaluator.
When evaluator designation approval is enabled, the designated evaluators are confirmed only after the approver's approval.
An approval request is sent to the approver along with the peer evaluators designated by the evaluatee and the reason entered. The approver can reject or approve to confirm the evaluators.
Once rejected or cancelled, the rejection/approval record cannot be undone.
If the peer evaluator designation is rejected, a rejection notification is sent to the evaluatee, who can re-designate evaluators before the designation deadline.
Once approved, the designated peer evaluators cannot be changed even before the designation deadline.
