I Want to Exclude Registered Directors from Missed-Work Alerts.

How to configure registered directors in flex so they don't appear in missed-work or insufficient-work lists — including creating a dedicated work type with auto-recording.

When a member's employment type is set to [Registered Director], they are not required to log work records as they are not employees. However, since they must still be assigned a work type in flex like regular members, they may appear in insufficient-work or missed-work lists during attendance management. Here's how to manage registered directors so they are excluded from those lists.

How to Configure a Registered Director in flex

  • Go to the director's profile → [Employment Contract Info] tab and verify the employment type is set to [Registered Director]. If it is not, change the employment type to [Registered Director]!

Creating a Dedicated Work Type for Registered Directors

  • Since registered directors must also be assigned a work type, you can create a work type that auto-fills work records so they don't appear in insufficient-work or missed-work lists.

  • For ease of management, we recommend creating a fixed-hours work type. See the Fixed Hours Work Type Settings Guide for details.

  • Go to [Settings] → [Work Types] → [Add Type] and select [Fixed Hours].

  • Enter a name for the work type and configure the work days, weekly holiday, and other settings.

  • Turn Auto Work Recording ON so work records are filled in automatically.

How to Apply the Director Work Type

  • Go to the director's [Profile] → [Work Info] and click [Change] on the right to apply the newly created director work type.

  • You can also make this change via [Member Management] → [HR Info Management] → [Bulk Info Change] tab → [Change Info] in the top right → [Work Info Change].

When Registering a Registered Director in flex

  • In [Member Management] → [Add Member] from the left menu, first set the employment type to [Registered Director], then immediately apply the created director work type.

FAQ

What about non-registered directors?

Non-registered directors may need to log work records if their contract requires them to work the same hours as regular employees. In that case, create a new work type for non-registered directors — either the same as regular members or a customized type — and manage their work accordingly.

How do I set registered directors to receive no annual leave?

See the I Want to Set It So Registered Directors Don't Receive Annual Leave! guide for details on annual leave policy settings.
